Preventing Spiritual Amnesia

More than 200 French soldiers came home from WWII with amnesia, and 32 of them couldn't be identified by any record. So doctors put their photos in the newspaper and gathered a crowd at the Paris Opera House, where one soldier walked onto the stage and asked the room, "Does anybody know who I am?" Davey uses that scene to introduce Jesus instituting the Lord's Supper hours before His crucifixion—not as some mystical repeat of His death, but as a cure for a kind of spiritual amnesia believers keep slipping into. What exactly are we supposed to remember every time we take the bread and the cup?
